Omni, Longevity Relegated to Cyberspace: The magazines will stop appearing in hard copy, in a cost-cutting move announced by Penthouse magazine Publisher Bob Guccione. The magazines will continue to be available electronically, with new issues being turned out by 31 fewer staffers, Guccione’s company, General Media International, said. But the winter issue of Omni, a science quarterly, and the March or April issue of Longevity, a health monthly, will be the last editions on paper for the foreseeable future. The magazines will be back in print when paper becomes more affordable, Guccione said. Meanwhile, General Media will focus on strengthening Penthouse and its spinoffs.
