City Makes Curbs on Nudity Explicit

Share

There are no nude beaches in Bellflower--no beaches, for that matter--but don’t even think about dropping your drawers here because the city has itself covered.

Last week the City Council voted to amend the municipal code, making it easier for the district attorney to prosecute cases of public nudity.

Bellflower hade a law that was essentially unenforceable, said Bellflower Public Safety Coordinator Leo Mingle, because prosecutors had to prove an intent to offend and sexual gratification on the individual’s part. Now the provisions spell out which parts of the body cannot be exposed.
