Cyberspace has a little more heart now.

Hoag Heart Institute, part of Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, launched its Heart Month community education program over the Internet on Monday.

People can register for health classes, and get health tips and physician information directly through their computer at the hospital’s World Wide Web site (https://www.hoag.org/).

In addition, as part of the hospital’s heart-health awareness month in February, Hoag is holding a Healthy Heart Recipe Contest.

Entries can be entered via fax, mail or on the Web site by Feb. 16.

A winner will be announced March 1 and will receive a $100 gift certificate to a Williams-Sonoma store.

Internet users can use Hoag’s Web site to register on-line for Heart Month low-fat cooking demonstrations, cholesterol screenings and a variety of classes on eating habits, stress and other factors affecting heart health.
