Travolta, Wife Sued by Owner of Home They Leased

The owner of a Beverly Hills home has sued John Travolta and his wife, Kelly Preston, for allegedly damaging furniture, antiques, art and other personal property in the residence.

The lawsuit, filed Tuesday in Santa Monica Superior Court, asks for $500,000 to pay for items that allegedly were damaged or removed during the time the couple leased the home.

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of landlord Bob M. Cohen.

Travolta’s attorney, Marty Singer, called the allegations “absurd” and said witnesses and videotapes can prove that the couple left the home in “immaculate” condition. The attorney accused Cohen of failing to return Preston’s $85,000 security deposit.

Singer said Preston leased the home from September 1994 to June 1995.
