Sacrificing Their Soles for a Better World
Thank you for the fine article by Beverly Beyette about the 10th reunion of the Great Peace March (“At Peace With Themselves,” Feb. 26).
I am finishing a book about the march, a daily journal based solely on the writings and interviews of more than 100 of the people who made the trip.
It’s difficult to imagine Americans today with such willingness to commit themselves to an ideal as important as global nuclear disarmament ready to sacrifice almost a year of their lives to face discomfort, deprivation and, often, fear to make the world a safer place for everybody.
