The campy, revamped cocktail music this quintet creates is certainly evocative. The question is whether the retro imagery it evokes--leisure suits, tiki lounges, ‘70s television shows--is really worthy of resurrection. It’s mildly amusing at best, gently grating at its worst. Perhaps the optimal (and only) way to appreciate it is with a luridly exotic drink in hand and a steady conversational buzz in the foreground.
