* Music: Two firms reached agreement Thursday on a joint venture to broadcast country music in Canada, ending a battle between the two governments. The U.S. was preparing to impose trade sanctions to retaliate for a Canadian decision to stop broadcast of U.S.-owned Country Music Television after a new Canadian service, New Country Network, was launched in 1994. The pact calls for merging the operations into Country Music Television--Canada. Westinghouse Electric Corp.’s Group W Satellite Communications unit and Gaylord Entertainment own CMT.
