Nation IN BRIEF : New Snow Breaks Some State Records
Americans along the East Coast bundled up as snow again disrupted air travel, sent cars skidding and left people wondering whether spring would ever come. Snowfall hit eight states from Maine to Pennsylvania and caught the nation’s capital by surprise. Meteorologists said snowfall in Massachusetts brought the state’s accumulation for the winter to 96.4 inches, surpassing the previous record of 96.3 inches. The National Weather Service measured 3 inches of snow in Central Park in New York, which broke its record for snowfall last week.
