CHICAGO — The number of children in the United States with cavity-free permanent teeth has doubled in 20 years, the American Dental Assn. said Monday.
A recent study found that 55% of children ages 5 to 17 had no cavities, compared with 26% from 1971 to 1974, the ADA said. The group credited fluoridated water, fluoride dental products, increased dental visits and improved diet.
