McCormick to Sell Garlic-Onion Unit: The spice maker said it will sell its dehydration subsidiary, Gilroy Foods Inc., to ConAgra Inc. The sale is subject to completion of a definitive agreement and approval by the boards of both companies and federal regulators, McCormick executives said. Terms of the sale were not released. A McCormick spokesman said the company did not want to disclose why it is selling the subsidiary. Sparks, Md.-based McCormick & Co. acquired Gilroy, Calif.-based Gilroy Foods in 1961. The company had sales of about $200 million last year. McCormick is an international producer of spices, seasonings, flavorings and specialty foods. ConAgra, based in Omaha, is a diversified international food company.
