Newsmagazine Showdown: Both CBS and NBC had reason to be pleased Monday by the overnight ratings for the first matchup between “60 Minutes” and “Dateline NBC” on Sunday night. In the 33 markets for which viewing figures were available, “60 Minutes” handily won the time period with virtually the same size audience it has averaged in those cities all season--26% of the available viewers. And NBC, while not beating the older newsmagazine, ran a strong second in the time period with an 18% share, much larger than it had been generating with entertainment programs. National ratings will be out today.
