Share

Edudata Corp. of New Jersey has acquired two Westlake Village companies that manufacture intraoral cameras and nickel-plated diamond burrs for dentists.

The acquisition of Dental/Medical Diagnostic Systems and Bavarian Dental Instruments was in exchange for Edudata’s issuance of 5 million shares of its common stock.

After the exchange, there were a total of 7,509,900 shares of common stock outstanding.

DMD was formed in October of last year and BDI was started in December, said Robert H. Gurevitch, Edudata’s chairman of the board.

Edudata, a publicly traded company, has not had a product for a number of years, Gurevitch said.

At the time of the acquisition, Edudata announced that all members of its board of directors resigned. The new board includes Gurevitch, Hiroki Umezaki, Marvin H. Kleinberg and Gerald K. Kitano. Umezaki was elected secretary of the corporation.

Gurevitch retired in 1993 as chief executive officer and chairman of the board of New Image Industries, a leading manufacturer and seller of the intraoral cameras.

Most of the managers at DMD worked at one time for New Image, he said.
