Pretty in Peachy-Pink

Re “Just Grin and Wear It” (March 6): Ah, how well I remember the bridesmaid experience. My favorite cousin, Linda, was getting married, and I was delighted to be asked to be a bridesmaid.

“Could you get pink?” my aunt intoned. “Linda wants pink.” Oh, sure, Linda. Did you ever try to find a formal pink dress for a female more than 10 years old and under 60? (Hint: it doesn’t exist.)

I finally ended up with a peachy-pink outfit my aunt thought wasn’t long enough. But I looked neither like an entrant in the Easter parade, nor the chairwoman of the local DAR.

And yes, I did wear it again, at least the blouse. After I dyed it purple, that is.
