Arafat to Testify at Militant’s Trial
Palestinian Authority President Yasser Arafat and Palestinian legislator Hanan Mikhail-Ashrawi have agreed to testify on behalf of a leader of the militant group Hamas at his extradition trial, the man’s lawyer said.
Mousa abu Marzuk has been detained since July 25, when he tried to reenter the United States after he had been added to a list of suspected terrorists.
Israel asked for his extradition, saying he had been accused of conspiring to commit murder, manslaughter and other crimes.
The Israeli complaint said Abu Marzuk, a resident of Virginia for 14 years, funneled up to $500,000 to Hamas after he went to the Gaza Strip to reorganize the group in 1989.

In some 1997 stories, and stories from 2001 onward, Mousa abu Marzuk is referred to as Mousa abu Marzook.
