Milken Is Really a Great Guy

In response to the negative letters on March 3 in response to the Feb. 18 article “Milken’s Mission,” I would like to tell others they are misinformed. I knew Michael Milken for years. I’ve been around his wife and family. I’ve eaten side by side. I never made money with Milken, but I’ll tell you this was not an evil, greedy person.

He’s modest; his wife never displayed her wealth. You would never know she was a billionaire. Kindhearted and generous, when a worker at his firm got AIDS and was going blind and broke, Milken came to the rescue of this person and the family. He was always giving to the world more than he could have ever taken. Not to mention the myriad other causes and charities he helped.

When you’re different by means of genius, wealth or maybe luck or looks, you’re feared and envied by many. Making him the blanket fall guy for Wall Street wrongdoing has gone far enough.
