Unidentified gunmen shot dead two U.N. peacekeepers and a British aid worker in Angola’s coastal province of Benguela. Diplomats said they were attacked while traveling in a U.N.-marked vehicle from Benguela to Cubal. The dead peacekeepers were identified as Capt. Mururai Shakespeare of Zimbabwe and Maj. Alla-Ynfi Ziyad of Jordan. The third victim, Briton Chris Seward, 46, worked for the British charity Oxfam. An Indian U.N. observer traveling with them was wounded and was in critical condition in a Luanda hospital.
