Elaine Asa has been named Woman of the Year by Temple Beth Tikvah Sisterhood for her community service.

She will be honored at a luncheon April 21 to benefit the Sisterhood, which provides youth activities, helps to feed the poor and is involved in a number of other projects.

Asa “is a pillar in the community,” said Barbara Queen, a Sisterhood spokeswoman.

A Fullerton resident, Asa is married to Haim Asa, the temple’s rabbi for 30 years, and is well known to the congregation as well as the community at large for her years of dedication in service projects.

The luncheon, open to the public, will be at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Brea. The cost is $25 or $30 a person.
