Three men were sentenced to life in prison for killing one black man and wounding two others in what prosecutors called a hunting trip to start a race war. Eli Trevino Mungia, 21; his 25-year-old cousin Ricky Rivera Mungia and Roy Ray Martin, 20, were sentenced by U.S. District Judge Sam Cummings in Lubbock. They were convicted in November of violating civil rights and gun laws. The men also face state charges of murder and attempted murder for the 1994 shootings. Prosecutors said the victims were chosen at random and shot during a span of less than half an hour.
