From Times Wire Reports

The government temporarily banned news broadcasts by a private radio network after one of its stations announced a nonexistent islandwide curfew. The Ministry of Mass Media ordered Colombo-based MBC Networks to suspend local and foreign news broadcasts after radio station Sirasa FM announced the curfew Monday, a ministry statement said. The broadcast said the government had introduced an islandwide curfew when in fact it had only extended emergency laws to cover the whole country.
