Begging by Foreigners on Rise in Thailand

BANGKOK —
Jobless foreigners are flocking to newly affluent Thailand to panhandle at tourist sites and shopping centers, a report said Friday.
More than 1,200 foreigners survived by begging here last year, 16% more than in 1994, the Thai Farmers Research Center said.
