* Re “Judge Keeps Abramson as Menendez’s Lawyer,” April 10:

Is there anyone who believes that what Leslie Abramson did for her client is not done by the majority of defense lawyers? Being a defense lawyer is inherently unethical and immoral. It is not their duty to find the truth regarding guilt or innocence of their client. Their job is to “get the client off” by any means necessary, even if they know their client is guilty. Even if it means doctoring evidence or introducing innuendo and half-truths.

* How dare Abramson make a farce of our judicial system? While tens of thousands of honorable, hard-working men and women practice law in our country, it is the few who are responsible for the negative image suffered by lawyers.

She deserves to be disbarred, held in contempt of court and fined an amount equal to or greater than the fees that she has received for her “professional services” in the two Menendez trials.

* Re “Note-Altering May Cost Menendez Psychiatrist,” April 11:

I have known Dr. William Vicary, not in the role of expert witness, but rather as the compassionate volunteer at the Hollywood Sunset Free Clinic. For 25 years he has provided free psychiatric services to those who otherwise would have none. I do not know what the outcome of this controversy will be; but in terms of his support for the less fortunate of our city, Vicary provides a model his profession would do well to emulate.
