Advanced Logic Research Inc.: The Irvine computer systems manufacturer reported an 82% increase in net income for the fiscal second quarter on a 16% gain in sales.

Net income in the quarter ended March 31 rose to $2 million, or 17 cents a share, from $1.1 million, or 9 cents a share, for the same quarter a year ago. Sales increased to $55 million from $47.4 million. Net income for the first six months was $4.4 million, or 36 cents a share, up from $1.7 million, or 15 cents a share, for the same period of the preceding year. Revenue rose 21% to $112.2 million from $93.1 million.
