Aha! David Baker’s reporting reveals to us what has happened to our strawberries (“Survival of the Fruitiest,” April 21).

Perhaps he might care to undertake a similar inquiry into what happened to red, ripe, thin-skinned tomatoes, which some of us remember from our childhoods and which had no resemblance to the hard, gassed-to-be-red plastic we find masquerading as tomatoes in markets today.
