Zenith Insurers Subsidiary to Buy Compensation Fund

Zenith National Insurance Corp. of Woodland Hills said its subsidiary Zenith Insurance Co. has signed a letter of intent to acquire Associated General Contractors’ Self-Insurer’s Fund (AGC-SIF), a Florida workers’ compensation fund.

AGC-SIF has 1,400 members. Its written premiums in 1995 were $40 million.

Zenith declined to disclose the purchase price.

Zenith is a workers’ compensation insurer with 1995 written premiums of about $200 million.
