FLORIDA : U.S. Attorney Quits Amid Biting Dispute

U.S. Atty. Kendall Coffey resigned amid accusations that he bit a topless dancer on the arm during a visit to an adult club after losing a big drug case. “The decision to leave is the most painful and difficult of my life,” the 43-year-old prosecutor said, reading a statement on the steps of the federal courthouse. Coffey made no direct mention of the allegations, but earlier denied through a spokesman that they ever took place. A topless dancer at the Lipstik Adult Entertainment Club had accused Coffey of struggling with her and then biting her on the arm, breaking the skin, the Miami Herald said.
