‘Reno’ Cruises Up the Coast
LORENZO LAMAS, who is in Utah filming the thriller “Word of Honor” with Roy Scheider and Gary Busey, and his bride, May Playboy playmate SHAUNA SAND, have purchased a Los Feliz home for about $1.8 million.
Lamas, 38, and Sand, in her 20s, were married on April 27 at Treetops, the upstate New York home of Lamas’ actress mother, Arlene Dahl, and his stepfather, fragrance designer Marc Rosen. Lamas’ father was the late actor Fernando Lamas.
The younger Lamas, who played Lance on the TV series “Falcon Crest” (1981-1990), stars as Reno Raines in the series “Renegade,” which has been airing on Fox in syndication and on the USA Network.
The action-adventure series, created in 1992 by Stephen J. Cannell and produced by Cannell Entertainment, will air exclusively on the USA Network in September, with 22 original episodes, sources say.
The newlyweds bought a gated home on about an acre with city views, park-like grounds and a black-bottom pool and spa. The home has a main house with four bedrooms and maid’s quarters plus a guest house with two bedrooms.
Built in the 1920s, the 5,000-square-foot home was remodeled in 1990, sources say. The asking price was $2 million.
The actor also has listed his house on three acres in Poway, near San Diego, at $1.2 million. The 3,500-square-foot home has a guest house. Lamas has owned the home for about three years, sources say.
“Renegade” has been filmed in San Diego, but Lamas and his bride wanted a home in the L.A. area so they could be closer to the studios and start their life together in a home new to both of them, sources say.
Aram Djagharbekian of Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate in Glendale has the Poway listing and represented the couple in buying the Los Feliz house.

The longtime Beverly Hills home of GENE KELLY has come on the market at just under $2 million, sources say.
The traditional-style, nearly 5,000-square-foot home has three bedrooms, a guest house and a pool.
Kelly, who was 83 when he died in February, had the house rebuilt in 1984 to look just the way it did before a fire that year destroyed the home and everything in it, including his only Oscar. The legendary dancer had owned the property for more than 30 years, sources say.

ZSA ZSA GABOR’S 21-acre ranch in Ventura County has been sold for $900,000, sources say. It was listed last August at $1.45 million. The Hungarian-born actress, who lives in Bel-Air, is said to have purchased the ranch in 1990 for $1.75 million.
Gabor sold the ranch, which she had called Silver Fox Farm, to some Simi Valley residents who plan to turn it into a working horse ranch called Amber Ridge Equestrian Center.
The ranch has a 48-stall barn, quarter-mile racetrack, two-bedroom ranch manager’s house, caretaker’s apartment, pasture and dressage ring.
It had been listed with Mary Woods of the Prudential-Jon Douglas Co., Camarillo, and Woods also represented the buyers.

Guitarist-singer TOMMY SHAW, who plans to leave town on Tuesday on a 56-city tour of the U.S. and Canada with the rock band Styx, has sold his Beachwood Canyon house for about $800,000 and bought another Hollywood house, on an acre, for the same price, sources say.
The Styx tour will end at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on Aug. 14. Shaw is also a member of the rock act Damn Yankees, working on its third album.
Shaw, 42, and his fiancee, model Jeanne Mason, are remodeling their new home, his spokesman said. Shaw’s former house was built in 1923 for screenwriter-novelist James M. Cain (“The Postman Always Rings Twice,” “Double Indemnity”).
Ray and Dia Schuldenfrei of Fred Sands Realtors in the Hollywood Hills represented Shaw in both deals.

The Bel-Air home of the late director HENRY HATHAWAY, whose 66 films included John Wayne’s “True Grit” (1969), has been listed at $3.85 million.
The home is on 5.4 acres with a 50-foot-long reflecting pool, greenhouses, gardens and a city view. Built in 1959, the 5,000-square-foot house has three bedrooms, walls of glass and a dining room-library with a wet bar.
Hathaway died at age 86 in 1985. His widow continued to live in the home until she died in 1994. Their son, Jack, is selling the home through Don Robinson at Sotheby’s International Realty, Beverly Hills.

The home of philanthropist LITA ANNENBERG HAZEN has been listed at $7.5 million after being sold by her estate in April for about $6 million. It’s in the same area of Holmby Hills as the Playboy and Spelling mansions.
The buyer, described as a local businessman, is said to have changed his mind about living there and put it on the market while making plans to refurbish the house, built in the 1920s. John Bruce Nelson & Associates has the listing.
