Suffragists

Share

Your May 19 editorial, “History Through Today’s Lenses,” referring to women suffragists as “suffragettes” may not be appreciated by the early suffragists, as the word “suffragette” was initially used to scorn the women in the early suffrage movement. It is more appropriate to refer to the marble images of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Susan B. Anthony and Lucretia Mott as a suffragists statue.
