Executives Quit EDS in Europe: Geoffrey Carroll and Tom Butler, who were in charge of the General Motors Corp. unit’s operations in northern and southern Europe, respectively, resigned, saying the computer services company doesn’t pay enough attention to its operations there. Carroll also said Electronic Data Systems Corp. doesn’t give sufficient financial rewards to managers. Carroll said EDS should focus more on consumer markets for data processing and computer services. Business-to-business demand for such services is diminishing in Europe, he said. Carroll and Butler will join Philips Origin as chief executive and chief operating officer, respectively.
