Yahoo Seeking European Partners: The company, which runs one of the most popular Internet search software engines, is looking to tap the growing online market in Britain, Germany and France, said Tim Koogle, president and chief executive. Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Yahoo Inc. last week teamed up with publisher Ziff-Davis, which is owned by Japan’s Softbank Corp., to create Yahoo Europe and provide local versions of its software, which helps Internet users find the information they want on the global computer network. Local versions should be available by the second half of this year. Yahoo also plans to install computer servers in Europe to handle European users and is looking for more partnerships to expand its business. Yahoo was launched on the Nasdaq market in April.
