Timothy Leary

* Re “ ‘60s Drug Guru Timothy Leary Dies at 75,” June 1: So the late Timothy Leary wanted to lay claim to the world’s first burial in space by tucking a quarter-ounce of his ashes aboard a soon-to-be-launched satellite? His final “act,” of course, will be the flaming reentry of his ashes as they fall back to Earth with the projectile.

If Leary relished the thought of “burning up” yet one more time, he may be in for an outrageous party! Given the mischief this man caused to the gullible ‘60s generation with his “tune in, turn on and drop out” message, Leary may well spend the next few millennia burning .J.J. in the leaping flames of hell.

* The very same drugs which Leary championed as opening up the consciousness to the future really kept him locked in the throes of the past. The saddest part is that he didn’t even know it.
