Pure Software to Buy Atria: Pure Software Inc. said it agreed to buy Atria Software Inc. in a stock swap valued at $954.4 million, combining the companies’ expertise in writing software development and testing computer programs. Under terms of the transaction, Pure Software would give 1.544615 of its shares for each of Natick, Mass.-based Atria’s 15.21 million shares. Based on Pure’s closing stock price of $40.75 on Friday, the transaction would be worth about $954.4 million. Pure Software, headquartered in Sunnyvale, Calif., and Atria Software both write computer programs that help professional programmers plan, develop and test other software. The transaction would create a company that can supply all types of software development tools to programmers of other software firms and corporate programmers.
