Ex-Presidential Aide Jailed in South Korea

SEOUL — A former personal aide to South Korean President Kim Young Sam was sentenced to five years in jail today for taking bribes from business leaders, a court official said.
Chang Hak Ro was also fined $774,680, equivalent to the sum he was convicted of taking in bribes from more than a dozen business tycoons in exchange for favors, the official said.
