WASHINGTON, D.C. : Clinton Says Iranians Have Left Bosnia

Share
From Times Wire Reports

President Clinton certified to Congress that the government of Bosnia-Herzegovina has complied with requirements that all foreign forces, including fighters from Iran, be withdrawn from the country. The step removes a major roadblock--but not the final hurdle--that has barred the United States from equipping and training the Bosnian army under the terms of the Dayton, Ohio, peace accord. The next step is for Bosnia to pass a defense law reorganizing the military by melding Muslim and Croatian troops.
