NATION IN BRIEF : NORTH CAROLINA : Arson Suspected in Fire at Black Church

Fire damaged a predominantly black church near Maysville, N.C., and investigators said there was evidence of arson. Authorities said they found what appeared to be traces of chemicals at St. James AME Zion Church. Raleigh television station WRAL reported that gasoline was poured on the floor.
