A Cincinnati woman was arrested after allegedly making a Molotov cocktail and planning to toss it at Cincinnati Red shortstop Barry Larkin.
Larina Lewis, 26, was arrested Monday when authorities discovered rudimentary bomb-making materials in her home in Over-the-Rhine, just north of Cincinnati. The Reds said Larkin does not know the woman, and her motive was not immediately clear.
Lewis was charged with a misdemeanor for possessing the bomb materials, and held on $10,000 bond. She entered no plea at her arraignment Tuesday, and her next court appearance is July 11.

The Reds placed pitcher Pete Schourek on the 15-day disabled list because of a sore left elbow and put Hal Morris on the list because of a broken elbow suffered when he was struck by the broken barrel of Eric Davis’ bat while waiting in the on-deck circle Monday. Cincinnati activated outfielder Eric Anthony from the disabled list. . . . The Baltimore Orioles agreed to terms with 16-year-old Australian pitcher John Stephens, including a signing bonus of $500,000, and are close to signing 33rd-round pick Ryan Minor, who was selected in the second round of the NBA draft by the Philadelphia 76ers.
