ARIZONA : 6 in Viper Militia Freed, 6 Others Held
From Times Staff and Wire Reports
Six Viper Militia members accused of conspiring against the government were released from jail after promising to stay away from explosives and firearms and to not break any laws. But six others were held because U.S. Magistrate Barry Silverman was concerned they could be dangerous and might try to flee. Family members and friends promised they would act as responsible third parties to ensure that the released defendants remained at home wearing electronic monitoring devices and reported to the court daily.
