ALABAMA : Tornado Victims Are Remembered

From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Members of the Goshen United Methodist Church gathered to dedicate a replacement sanctuary and to remember the 20 victims of a tornado that destroyed the church on Palm Sunday two years ago. The Rev. Kelly Clem, who lost her 4-year-old daughter Hannah in the tornado, said the dedication of the new church marked “the beginning of a new chapter in our lives.” The church in Piedmont, Ala., plans to put a worship chapel, flowers, trees, a fountain and benches on the site of the demolished structure. Twenty markers with the names of the dead will stand next to 20 dogwood trees on the site.
