Advanced Logic Research Inc.: The Irvine manufacturer of computer systems reported that net income surged 87% in the fiscal third quarter to $2.2 million, or 18 cents a share, from $1.2 million, or 10 cents a share, for the same quarter a year ago. Sales for the quarter ended June 30 increased 9% to $50.2 million from $46 million. Net income for the first nine months rose to $6.6 million, or 54 cents a share, from $2.9 million, or 25 cents a share, for the corresponding period a year ago. Sales gained 17% to $162.4 million from $139 million.
