Fluor Unit Wins VW Argentina Contract

A unit of Fluor Daniel has signed a contract with Volkswagen AG subsidiary VW Argentina for the initial stage of a three-year plant maintenance project in Argentina. The value of the contract was not disclosed.

Fluor Daniel’s Facility & Plant Services will provide a computerized maintenance management system, preventive maintenance programs and safety training programs to increase productivity and reduce operating costs at VW’s Pacheco plant, about 25 miles north of Buenos Aires.

“This is a breakthrough project for us in this rapidly developing region,” said Steve MacLeod, president of Fluor Daniel’s south Latin America region. “We’re confident it will be a springboard for other similar contracts with automotive and industrial clients in Argentina.”
