OLYMPICS DAILY REPORT : Adams Again Showing Patience

Share

The wait has been a long one for U.S. archer Judi Adams.

She made the 1980 Olympic team but missed the Games in Moscow because of the U.S. boycott.

She felt bad at the time but figured there would be other Olympics. Instead, she failed to make the team in 1984, then again in ’88 and ’92.

Even her first Olympic experience has been bittersweet. Adams’ mother died this week after a long illness. Adams will stay through opening ceremonies today, then will leave Saturday for the funeral in Scottsdale, Ariz., returning on Wednesday. Archery competition will begin July 28.
