They’re Dreaming of New Olympic Team

What a joke! The Dream Team! Who cares? I thought sports was supposed to be about competition. I really enjoyed following our U.S. Olympic basketball team when it was made up of collegians. That was exciting, entertaining competition.

That the Dream Team is treated with such hype and as a symbol of American pride is a joke on America. I am embarrassed as an American that we feel the need to stack the deck so much in our favor.

The Dream Team experiment should end. We already kicked their butts four years ago to avenge the John Thompson disaster.

This is one American who would love to see the U.S. basketball team get beaten.

Someone recently wrote that Jim Thorpe would be a rich man if he were alive today. After what the Olympic committee did to him, I think it’s much more accurate to say that he would be a very angry man at seeing what the Olympic Games have become.

I can remember how exciting it was a few years back when the U.S. amateur hockey team won the gold. It would not have been the same had they won using NHL players. It’s obvious all the USOC cares about is winning. The Dream Team is indicative of the moral decay of our society and the USOC should be ashamed of how and who represent the United States.
