New Zealand riders rank 1-2 going into today’s final show-jumping phase of the three-day individual equestrian event at Conyers, Ga.

Blyth Tait had a fast round on Ready Teddy with no jumping faults to score 56.8 penalties, followed by Sally Clark on Squirrel Hill with 60.4.

Even though her horse, Out and About, wrenched a shoe loose, Kerry Millikin of Westport, Mass., managed to tie France’s Jean Teulere for third with 67.2 penalties.

Meanwhile, David O’Connor’s horse, Custom Made, was clearly disconcerted by the loss of a front shoe early in the course. O’Connor, of The Plains, Va., is fifth with 68.4 penalties, down from second after dressage.
