For Some, NBC Means Not Best Coverage

By NBC’s own admission, there are 197 national Olympic teams participating in Atlanta. So where are the other 196?

One hand clapping for NBC missing the market by ignoring Olympic soccer coverage. On nine days we get canoeing. For soccer, which drew more than 90,000 at the Rose Bowl and 70,000 at the Meadowlands, we get the men’s final, late night. For women’s soccer, where the U.S. is the favorite, we get nothing. Who in NBC’s cuckoo land makes these decisions?

What is John Tesh doing reporting gymnastics anyway? He knows nothing about sports. What’s next, Mary Hart doing basketball?

After watching several days of Olympic coverage, I have one question:

When did they change the name to the Nationalistic Broadcasting Company? I seem to have missed the announcement.
