Southern California’s busy freeway systems probably have more cellular phones per mile than anywhere else in the world. And that’s not even counting the cell phones used in emergency call boxes. Orange County’s Comarco Inc. makes most of these special telephones, and is unveiling a new model that the deaf can use.

Dishwasher Safe

Replacing your home’s dishwasher or sink without a permit is now legal in unincorporated Orange County. The prohibition was among about a dozen regulations tagged by county officials as outdated and rarely enforced. State officials have examined 21,000 regulations and removed about 4,000 so far.
