Now It’s Possible to Save All Those Puff Pieces

SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

Cigar lovers will light up with joy when they see Cigar Savor, a unique black tube that snuffs out a lighted cigar, then keeps it moist so it can be smoked later.

Considering the increasing popularity of cigar smoking--in exclusive clubs and restaurants--Cigar Savor could be the hottest cigar accessory since the humidor. It accommodates cigar sizes up to 7 1/2 inches by 51 ring gauges (the cigar’s diameter), is lightweight (2 ounces) and fits in a suit pocket.

Invented by cigar aficionado Arthur Beloff of North Miami, Fla., Cigar Savor not only snuffs out the leftover stogie, but it reforms the tip when you put the cap on the case. It’s easy to clean because the bottom of the tube is removable.

“Even though a cigar is traditionally savored for up to an hour, now a cigar smoker can enjoy a quick 10-minute smoke before getting on a plane, stepping into a business meeting or even during a theater break,” Beloff says.

Cigar Savor ($25) is available in smoke shops nationwide; for information, call (800) 372-2069. Or you can wait for the sterling silver version, for $300, due out this fall.

An internal rechargeable battery plus two AAs keeps the D-777 playing for 14 continuous hours. It has eight playback modes and is capable of retaining up to 10 seconds of music in the player’s memory in case the unit is bumped and the music is interrupted.
