Finance Firm Acquires Synthonics in Stock Swap

Synthonics Inc., a Westlake Village software developer, said it has been acquired through a stock swap by a public shell company, Columbine Financial Corp., in order to get its shares publicly traded on the Nasdaq over-the-counter market.
The company, which develops technology that recreate 3-D models on personal computer screens, aims to form partnerships with other companies to apply its technology to a variety of areas, including orthodontics.
