Family Values and Gay Marriage

Thank you for the excellent article about Mitchell Goldstone and Carl Berman (“He Means Business in Gay Rights Fight,” Aug. 5). That they come from loving, accepting families who encouraged them to get married is real family values based on love.

As the mother of a gay son who has been in a loving monogamous relationship for several years, I commend and am grateful to those rabbis and other clergymen who sanctify and bless these unions. Hopefully, the legislatures will follow their examples and these hard-working, tax-paying, productive citizens (who vote in elections) will be given their full legal rights to each other.
