Q: Does shark cartilage cure cancer?

A: According to the Mayo Clinic, the short answer is no. Contrary to advertisements for the product, sharks do get cancer, just like all other animals. To date, there have been no scientific studies demonstrating that shark cartilage has any curative powers in humans, according to Mayo physicians. Furthermore, they say, it is doubtful that the shark cartilage capsules contain enough protein to have any beneficial effect, and what little is there is digested in the stomach.
