Singles Group to Host Flirting Competition

Area singles willing to put their powers of romantic attraction to the test are invited to a flirting contest at the Harbortown Marina Resort in Ventura.

The contest is part of a nightlong “flirting convention” held by American Singles, a nationwide nonprofit organization. Before the contest, those attending will hear a keynote speech on “The Art of Flirting,” covering such topics as ways to meet people and things to say after you’ve said hello.

Then participants can try out the keynote speaker’s tips during the flirting competition, followed by dancing.

The event--also sponsored by Oxnard College, Ventura College and the Cupid’s Network web site--begins at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 20. Admission is $15, and all ages are welcome. For more information, call 654-6459 or 986-5822.
