From Times Wire Reports

Mother Teresa left the hospital after a battle with heart problems, malaria and pneumonia, and immediately went home to rest. Doctors said the 86-year-old Nobel peace laureate, renowned for her work with the destitute, was released before dawn from Calcutta’s Woodland’s Nursing Home at her own request. The Roman Catholic nun was taken by wheelchair, ambulance and stretcher to her nearby home from the hospital, which she entered Aug. 20 with malaria. Doctors said that Mother Teresa, who has had a pacemaker since 1989, suffered two heart attacks while in intensive care in the hospital and also had a bout of mild pneumonia.
